Goer Profiles in CCB
Many of you know or have heard of our goers, but you may not know how those partners are handled in CCB or how they might come on your radar inadvertently.
Goers are TAS partners first and will have a profile in CCB up until the time they launch. Upon launch, our team will update their profile noting them as a goer, and then will inactivate their profile to prevent local church communication while they are on the field. You will see this notation under their timeline of involvement listed by the date they launched.
From that point forward, our international Field Office communicates with goers on behalf of The Austin Stone. This currently includes processing their annual partnership renewal. Some may choose to subscribe to congregation newsletters via Mailchimp to stay informed if their field location permits, but the majority rely on the Field Office for their church-related communication.
When a goer returns from the field and has no clear plans to return, our team will note their profile just like we did when they launched, indicating their return date, and will activate their profile if they plan to remain in the Austin area and as partners of The Austin Stone. Otherwise, their profile remains inactive.
So where does the confusion happen? Well, it can happen in two ways.
First, if a goer has a gift schedule linked to their profile, we are unable to make the profile inactive. Instead, we will remove their email address to prevent unintended communications. This is why you may see partners with no email address in your lists.
Second, when goers visit stateside and plan to be in Austin, our team will activate their profile so that they can check children into KIDS, register for a class, etc. We inactivate the profile when they return to the field, but during the time of their visit, their profile could come on your radar. Our Field Office team members are also always active to receive church information to inform goers.
If you run into these profiles, please reach out to Ty Cooper before making a change like adding them to a group, changing partnership status, following up on communication like for annual partnership renewals, or inactivating again. Ty Cooper also serves as a point of contact if goers make a request to you directly to activate their profile so that For the Nations can assess any communication risks.
One way to avoid confusion is to filter out goer profiles when running reports in CCB. This filter can be set up to eliminate any profile with the Goers on the Field process queue indicator that does not also have the Goers Return Date indicator. If you need help, Jorge is a wizard at this!
It can all be a bit much when you consider that this includes 262 profiles and counting, all of who have varying circumstances, so please feel free to reach out with questions when you bump into one.
