The 411 about The Gathering

What is The Gathering?

The Gathering is a unique and incredible time to gather goers from the 100 UPG Cooperative! During this time, we desire to lavishly care for each goer, provide an opportunity for goers to connect with the Lord, other goers, and 100 UPG Cooperative leaders, and to strengthen the feeling of family among goers.

Who will attend?

Goers who participate in the 100 UPG Cooperative will receive invitations to attend, as well as a few key partners and leaders. Additionally, designated staff members who are part of our vision and planning teams will be there to help execute the event, along with approximately 120+ support-raised volunteers. Due to the size of our goer network and the capacity of the venue, there’s very limited space for additional participants.

What role do you as a staff member play?

Many from our staff family serve as part of our planning team to help execute the event and we’re so grateful for the time and effort they extend in addition to their main job responsibilities! You have the chance to serve in a volunteer capacity in one of two ways. First, you could serve as a Kids/Students Program Volunteer, which involves putting on a high-quality program similar to The Austin Stone Sunday programming.

Second, you could serve as a Family Assistant. Each family attending the event will recruit one Family Assistant to help the family with their children for the duration of the gathering. Our hope is that the Family Assistant will give the parents the helping hands they need in order to participate fully in the conference, to rest well and have time with the Lord, and to have flexibility in the time they spend with their spouse and their children.

*Both of these roles are support-raised roles that require the completion of trainings prior to the event.*

What if I am not attending The Gathering as staff or as a volunteer?

We ask for your prayers. Please pray for those planning the event, for our goers and their Advocacy Teams who’ll help them plan and prepare to attend the event, for our volunteer recruitment efforts, and for our goers to be encouraged, refreshed, and renewed while at the event.

Security Considerations:

As you can imagine, it’s quite an endeavor to bring more than 175 goers together from around the world. For their safety and the protection of their local ministry, we ask that communication about the event be limited to word of mouth or through very controlled platforms, and to refer to the event as “The Gathering”We don’t publicly share the dates or the location of the event, or make any references on social media prior to the event. Please let our team know if you have any questions about our Secure Communication Guidelines.
