Why Does This Matter?
As we often say, we are one church with six congregations, but have you ever asked yourself "what makes us one church?". In addition to a shared theology, share elder body, shared pulpit, a share BUDGET is also one of the things that makes us one church.
While finances don’t tell the entire story of God’s work within our church, it does show a large portion of what we are doing as his bride. Because we show financials to partners and banks, we want our “story” to be accurate as possible.
Lastly, consistent coding doesn’t just allow for better story telling, it also makes budget work and financial decisions significantly easier as we get more and more accurate.
Congregation Departments & Locations
All ministry activity happening at our church should be charged to one of these departments below. The location will be dependent on the congregation, and churchwide events should be charged to the central location.
