Strategic Initiatives Overview
An Introduction to Setting Priorities
Our church has six congregations and multiple initiatives, all of which contribute faithfully to the scope of ministry of The Austin Stone. We affirm the importance of these ministries and are resourcing them so that they can continue their current ministry rhythms and trajectories, producing fruit for the kingdom of God and growing in scope and effectiveness.
We are also growing as a church, improving and developing our organization as a whole. There are several priorities that we feel called to pursue that will impact a large section of our church staff team, potentially causing a shift in priorities, effort, and resources.
While these Strategic Initiatives have priority for organizational resources, effort, and focus in the coming year, this is not all we are doing as a church. In developing these initiatives, we have tried to take into account the capacity of our teams overall by looking at Organizational Major Projects, Divisional Major Projects, and regular Projects that our teams will be working on this coming year. For a definition of these various project types, see Appendix: Defining Project Categories.
Strategic Initiatives
August 1, 2023 - Today
Over the course of development for our 2030 Vision, it became clear that our Strategic Initiatives should help build our organization in a direction that is supportive of this vision. This emphasis, through discussion and prayer with our leadership, has yielded the following three Strategic Initiatives starting in FY24:
- Pursue radical generosity through a capital-raising campaign.
- Improve employee engagement by utilizing staff survey results.
- Launch an adaptive management strategy to implement our Joyfully Devoted vision.
These Strategic Initiatives are each expanded upon at the links provided.
