How to Complete a Manager Review
Our ongoing rhythms of commending, coaching, correcting, and change are meant to help you contribute and grow throughout the year. The Annual Review is a more formalized opportunity to give a more comprehensive perspective on your contribution throughout the year through commending and coaching.
To gain the most from this conversation between you and your supervisor, please prepare your heart to be honest with yourself, your supervisors, and with the Lord. Then, set aside the undistracted time you need to consider your own calling, character, chemistry, competency and capacity in your role and with this team in our pursuit of love for God, the church, our city, and the nations.
The personal reflection form and other resources below will guide you in what we pray will be helpful to affirm the Lord’s pleasure in you, and to seek how He might desire to continue to will and to work in you for his good pleasure (Phil 2:13)!
Annual Review Overview
First: Schedule your review meeting with your manager. Get it on the calendar! Review meetings should take place by May 30th. |
Next: Complete your Self Review in 15Five between April 8th-15th. This will give your manager time to complete their manager review. The 15Five process is outlined in the chart below.**Note: If you have a "dotted-line" manager, the dotted-line manager can offer their feedback anytime during the self review or manager review phases. |
Finally: During the Review Meeting, you should review all notes added by the contributors, discuss your previous year's successes, desires for growth, and make any additional notes as needed. You will then acknowledge that you have seen and discussed your review with your manager, and your manager will finalize the review to complete the process. For further help navigating 15Five, please watch the videos below. |

Step Two (Manager): Complete the Manager Review in 15Five
Once logged into 15Five, the Manager Review will look very similar to the Self Review. The only difference is that the employee's responses will already be entered. Your next steps to complete your staff's reviews are:
- Read and provide feedback on your staff's reflection questions around Calling, Chemistry, Character, Competency & Capacity.
- Provide a final rating after reviewing all responses:
- Assess the staff member’s overall alignment with the expectations of the position and based on what you have observed in a snapshot of the last year. This is not a rating of a person’s worth, but an objective assessment.
- To help you better assess which rating to provide your employee, review the Rating Scale Overview Document in the Supervisor Resources below.
- Click 'Submit.'
- Once you have submitted all of your reviews, you can review all of your feedback with your team members in the scheduled one-on-one review meetings from May 9th-30th. For info on how to conduct a review meeting, check out the Review Prep Guide in the Supervisor Resources below.
- Finally, after or during your one-on-one, share the review by clicking the button at the bottom of the Summary tab of their review. This will allow the staff member a chance to acknowledge and sign their review. Once the staff member has acknowledged the review, you can click 'Finalize' at the bottom of the Summary tab to complete the review process.
- Clicking 'Finalize' is the last step you need to complete in the process.
